Speak Up For Yourself!
--Locate today’s opinion or editorial page.
--Read the letters to the editor and editorials.
--Choose an item that interests you.
--Write a letter either in support of or debating the issue mentioned in
the article.
--Find articles that give background information on your issue.
--Follow the op/ed pages for several days. Do any of the other letters
agree with your point of view? Where do they agree? On what points do
they disagree? Has your opinion changed after reading the other views?
Community opinion
--Has the opinion or action of a group in your community made a
difference lately in the outcome of an issue?

--Name an
instance in which a dissenting minority changed the shape of a law or
nation.
