Opinions and the Newspaper

Does one person’s opinion really make a difference? Issues large and small, important and not so important are discussed each day in an open forum. It’s called the opinion or editorial page…

Speak Up For Yourself!

--Locate today’s opinion or editorial page.

--Read the letters to the editor and editorials.

--Choose an item that interests you.

--Write a letter either in support of or debating the issue mentioned in the article.

--Find articles that give background information on your issue.

--Follow the op/ed pages for several days. Do any of the other letters agree with your point of view? Where do they agree? On what points do they disagree? Has your opinion changed after reading the other views?
