Comics and punctuation

The comics section can be used to teach punctuation. For example, you can teach the use of the exclamation point and feelings. Ask: Why is there an exclamation point here? Look at the picture to see what is going on. What expression does this character have? How do you think they feel and why? Then have the students draw and make their own comics using the exclamation point. Based on the pictures and the placement of the exclamation point teachers can tell if the student understands the idea.
